Prophet-5/Prophet-10 / "Bop" video - slogged w P5
« Last post by Manbird on Today at 10:17:19 AM »
Hi all - I posted this in the Your Music section, but wanted to give it a second shot here as well. The song reads more as a guitar/bass/drums/piano chune, but according to the track sheet, there are at least 4 Prophet 5 parts on tape here.

Just to be clear, the Prophet 5/10 has an unbalanced output. For best results use an unbalanced/TS cable and connect to a line level (not mic or instrument) input for best results. If a balanced cable solved your noise problem, then you may not be connecting to a line input or may have other issues at play in your setup, such as a grounding issue.

Hi all - my new video is out today. Animated donuts filmed in my dad's house the day after his funeral. What's not to like?
It's a guitar-heavy track, but it's got loads of sneaky Prophet 5 within.
Hope you enjoy!

No , it was some really loud mad static noises , like aliens trying to contact me through my pro 5 !
as long as the pro 5 was plugged in it would be there even with the volume down ,luckily I found someone else experiencing it and the solution is a balanced trs cable , literally just got a new cable tried it and totally silent ! waa heyyy

OB-6 / Ob6 numeric button feel issue on a desktop.

Can anyone confirm that some of the numeric buttons are far less clicky than other ones on the unit ? They seem much more consistent on my trigon.

It’s a nice upgrade. While it’s not really at the level of a Prophet X in regards to sample memory, it feels like it’s a nice nod to potential “things to come” from a future Groove Synthesis product.

It's being touted as bringing the PPG WaveTerm experience to the 3rdWave, so it's possible they could release some sort of expansion module to take it to the next level.  Hopefully not with floppy drives though :)

Take 5 / Re: Basic program doesn't work properly
« Last post by Skip7892 on Yesterday at 07:18:06 PM »
Hi there,

Has anyone had the issue where selecting basic program or using the shortcut to initialize doesn't fully reset to an initialized patch? There is often something still happening which is not visible. Sometimes its an effect, but I even had panning occurring at one stage.

This is after coming out of using a patch, there is usually some residual settings from that patch, which is always different depending on what patch I am playing. So each time I come out I need to reset the settings in order to start from a familiar place.

I only just bought the take 5 also, so I don't know if its just a firmware issue which is now resolved.

Thanks

Can't say I've seen that in any of the firmware versions I've used, but it probably wouldn't hurt to reinstall the latest to try and flush out any weirdness.
I have same issue. It was applying some latent pitch rolloff that I couldn’t cancel out.

Wholly unexpected and awesome!   I never had a hardware sampler and I always like that concept to how the Prophet X combined synth and samples.    Any idea how many samples spaces it holds?

I believe 30 seconds total at 16 bits, but not sure about that.  Samples are mono, but its kind of irrelevant since you can do anything with them that you can do with an oscillator, so part 1 pan left part 2 pan right etc. for binaural stereo.
