Hi all
This is a strange issue I hope you can help with as suddenly both my Rev2 and P6 will not connect or be detected via USB.
Is it possible to blow only 2 USB ports?...
..Basically I rearranged my synths last week, when pluging all back in I noticed my Anker 10 port powered USB hub which connects them all to my PC had blown, not sure when or how as I obviously unplugged everything before powering down and rearranging.
I bought a new powered hub and connected everything again.
However while all synths are again being detected via USB the Rev2 and P6 are no longer being detected.
Tried connecting the synths directly into my computer with several different USB cables and even purchased new ones and still no luck which makes me think the new USB Hub is not underpowered.
The synths can still be used via Midi so updated Firmware on both devices to latest versions.
Checked all Global Settings in both devices
Tried Calibration and P6 gets stuck on L1 L2
Not tried a Factory Reset yet.
It seems strange as its only them 2 synths no longer working and it wouldnt be that it was just them 2 synths connected at the time the Hub blew as all my synths were connected to the hub before making any changes.
So sorry for obtuse question! But is it possible the USB ports on just the Rev2 and P6 could have shorted somehow!?
With it only affecting my Sequential devices I was wondering are their USB ports more sensitive or something maybe?
Could it have wiped drivers or something somehow?
Hope you can help Cheers
It does seem unusual that only your Rev2 and P6 would be affected by the USB issue, especially since all your other synths are working fine. It's unlikely that the USB ports on the Rev2 and P6 specifically are shorted, but a few things could be happening here:
USB Hub Overload or Power Surge: Even though you replaced the hub, it's possible that there was a power surge or static discharge that affected the Rev2 and P6 USB ports. Sometimes, this can cause a device to become unresponsive via USB but still function through other connections (e.g., MIDI).
unblocked gamesDriver or Firmware Corruption: It's possible that when the hub malfunctioned, it interfered with the USB drivers or firmware on your devices. While the devices might still work through MIDI, their USB functionality could be impacted. Try reinstalling the USB drivers for both synths on your PC or resetting the drivers on your computer.
Port-Specific Issue: Some devices have more sensitive USB ports, but this is rare. However, if the power issue was only routed through those two devices' specific ports, it could have caused them to malfunction. Since MIDI still works, it seems like the USB-to-MIDI functionality might have been affected rather than the synths themselves.
Firmware Update: Even though you updated the firmware, it’s worth trying a Factory Reset on both the Rev2 and P6. This might help reset any corrupted settings or configurations, including anything that could be preventing the USB ports from working correctly.
Here’s a troubleshooting plan you can follow:
Reinstall USB drivers: Check if Windows or your DAW needs the specific drivers for both the Rev2 and P6.
Try a Factory Reset: This can sometimes clear up any issues that might have occurred during the power surge.
Test USB on another computer: This can rule out any issues with your computer’s USB ports or drivers.
Inspect USB cables: Ensure the cables are not damaged by the power issue.
