midi controller recommendation

midi controller recommendation
« on: April 16, 2024, 10:17:19 AM »
I recently purchased a desktop Prophet '08 module and I'm looking for a recommendation for a midi controller.
Must have: 5pin midi, 49 keys, velocity sensitive/aftertouch, DC power (not USB powered).
I do NOT want bells and whistles like drum pad, transport controls, etc.

There's lots of controllers out there.  Do you have a keyboard synth that you already like using?  If so, use that keyboard.  I use a Yamaha Montage from my controller of my P-12.  Works great.  Howeger, it would be a little overkill if all you want is a dedicated controller.
Jim Thorburn .  Toys-  Dave Smith: Prophet 5, Rev 4; Prophet 08; Pro 2; Prophet 12 module; EastWest Orchestral soft synths; Yamaha S-90; Yamaha Montage 8, Yamaha DX-7; KARP Odyssey; Ensoniq ESQ-1.  All run through a Cubase DAW with a Tascam DM-24 board.
