How can I play via Midi in and use the Sountower editor via USB?

Hello, 

I have a new REV2 OS 1.2.1.

How can I play the REV2 with a master keyboard/synthesiser if I want to use the Soundtower editor at the same time?
The manual PDF p.79 says that you should not use Midi In and USB at the same time.

I've got an answer on a FB Community Chat:

If it accepts signal from both at the same time there shouldn't be any issues.  They probably say that so people dont actually try to send multiple streams of notes at the same time.  But if you have one source for notes and another for programming/sysex/NRPN stuff my guess is worst case scenario the notes might be a bit glitchy if you are trying to do a bunch of parameter changes and a bunch of notes at once.
