I am letting everyone know this is resolved. My sequencer was working, it is just very limited to what is can do and the sequences that are built in to the presets all come with different sittings and that was throwing me off. Long story.
Thanks to verstaerker for the help also.
This is my first post in this forum as a new Sequential synthesizer owner. Hi all!
Would it be possible to grow this thread into one for issues related to the sequencer?
I got my Take 5 a few weeks ago and have been slowly learning my way around it. Some features are excellent, some seemingly needlessly limited, such as the sequencer recording no pitch bend or knob data (vs a much more economy synth such as the Minilogue having nor problem doing this). Anyway, this is not related to any of that.
When I record a sequence, at the end, I've discovered that if I record a sequence of any number of steps, but have either a tie or a rest for the last step, that last step is not recorded. E.g. 8-step of staccato notes on 1, 3, 5, and 7, and rests for 2, 4, 6, 8.... it results in not an 8-step sequence, but a 7-step one. And this is true if I wanted a rest or tie at the end of a 14-step sequence: it would play back as 13 steps.
If I have an actual NOTE in the last step, it does acknowledge it.
I can work around this by adding one MORE tie or rest to my, say, 16-step sequence by effectively recording a 17-step sequence and then getting a 16-step playback.
However...if I record a 64-step sequence, that's the max, so I can't add a 65th step. If I want a rest or tie at the end, I will always only get a 63-step sequence. I HAVE to play a note for the 64th step in order for it to record and play back all 64 steps.
Can anyone advise this issue? I can create a video demonstration for the skeptical or anyone needing clarification of what's going on. Thanks in advance
