Filter attack

Filter attack
« on: April 24, 2022, 12:22:00 AM »
Hello everyone recently I am the owner of the fantastic rev 2 8 ... creating my sounds the usual problem arises, I try to explain it if I can: when I program layer a with a slow filter entry so far everything is fine, the problem happens when for example I copy the layer a to the b and together the two layers do not respect the slow attack of the filter; I play the first time and the sound is heard with the slow filter if I resonate it I hear it with a fast attack, it is not a problem of polyphony because it behaves like this even with a single note. What could it be, best regards and thanks.

I do not completely understand your question. What do you mean with " if I resonate"? Turning op the resonance?
It is really difficult for me to judge from your message whether the behavior is "incorrect".

However, it never harms performing a calibration, maybe that solves something for you.

I think Damiano want to say Play again the note. In italian language Risuonare is the same word for resonate and play again.

My recommendations:

1. Make sure you have the latest firmware (1.21)
https://www.sequential.com/updating-prophet-rev2-os/

2. Run the Globals > Reset Globals routine

3. Run the Globals > Calibration routine for oscillators/filters

4. Remove any MIDI cables / USB and see if the issue persists (to rule out any sort of feedback loop issue)

With the 8-voice version, if you are stacking the two layers, note that you essentially have just 4-voice polyphony... So it could possibly be voice stealing, if your sounds have longer decay/release timings.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you can maybe dump the single patch file (.syx) and upload it, and maybe someone can analyze what the issue is.

Thanks...I've tried what you have recommended and now it's all ok!!!!!!
