Calibrating Question
« on: November 18, 2018, 07:47:38 PM »
I just performed my first REV2 update to the current BETA 1.1.4.27 from 1.0.0.2.

With certain waveshapes, at certain shape mod settings I’ve got inconsistencies across voices.

I followed the instructions of power cycling, resetting global parameters, and callibrating (voices & LPFs).

I’m new to this, so I may be missing something obvious.

Any thoughts?

I’m calibrating a 3rd time, following resetting global parameters and power cycling hoping to resolve the new anomalies I’m finding in my update to current BETA. The 3rd calibration seemed to address some anomalies.

The only anomaly remaining:
one of 16 voices is brighter when OSC2=Tri, only on C# key, in 5th highest octave of keybed, with Transpose=0.

(This assessment is from a Basic Patch.)

I don't know the exact reason but as a general suggestion: Please make sure that you wait about half an hour after switching on until the filters are warmed up before calibrating. Does this help?

I’ll try it. Thanks.

Different subject:

Is it okay to power off Rev2 when callibrating stalls?

Yes, this seems to have addressed it. Thank you.

Moderator: I realize the title is misleading, as the current BETA OS seems to not haven been related to my issue.

I’m okay with either deleting this thread, or changing its title to something like “Calibrating questions”.

The reason it freezes is because it has warmed up... When that half hour has passed, switch it of for ten full seconds, then turn it on again and do the calibration.. Then the calibration will not freeze... Also remember that when you calibrate when warmed up, then you need to let the REV2 warm up every time you turn it on if it is cold... There will be inconsistencies until it has warmed up. This is why some users experience inconsistencies... Because they calibrate when cold... Then inconsistencies will show up as the REV2 warms up, and stay inconsistent.
