Tempo fluctuations while using external clock

Tempo fluctuations while using external clock

First-time poster here - I love my Prophet 6, and I've started integrating into a workflow with some older synths lacking midi. I picked up an SND ACME-4 analog clock generator, and, for all intents and purposes, it works just fine.

Here's my issue - on the P6, the tempo is constantly flashing between the BPM given by the clock and the "---" symbol. This causes no problems with sequencing; however, any clock synced effects are just constantly regenerating as if the BPM was restarting from 0 every 16th note.

I imagine this is an issue with the nature of my clock generator, but I'm curious if anyone is aware of any workarounds on the P6 that might help.  Thanks!

When the P6 is set to sync to external MIDI clock, and there is no MIDI clock signal present at the MIDI input, then the BPM display will show "---". If there's no incoming clock, then there's not reference for tempo! If you have a way of sending a constant stream if MIDI clock data to the synth, you'll be good to go.
