Emulating roland tr 808 - 707 - 909 rimshot

So yeah, i would like to replicate those sounds on the Tempest, especially the 707 one. I tried with the Tempest recipe - Sidestick -  but what came out was really not similar to the roland's ones.

So if anyone has any tips on how to achieve those sounds i would be very thankful.

Cheers.

Hit up yorgos. He has done some kits based on old roland iconic drum machines. He just did the 808 which is the cats pants! He can for sure give you some ideas on where to hit up the best waveforums on the temp for this.

I think yorg is thinking about making a 707 kit. I too love the 707/727 and had the tr8 with that patch in it. Lovely machine (the tr707 i mean)

If I remember, the 707 was all samples... So you might get closer manipulating one of the rim shot samples with a little pitch etc.

The 808 and 909 rimshots were both synthesised..

The samples in the tempest can cover pretty much all the sound palette of the 707...With a bit of work everything of the 808 and 909 can be achieved too (except for the 909 opn hh) especially something simple as a rimshot.
