Hi all!
Just bought a used prophet rev2 yesterday. Bought a nice pair of headphones for it (Beyerdynamic), traded in an old Yamaha Dx21 with the little attachment that holds your sheet music, considering how rare that one piece is probably half the value of the keyboard, funded pretty much a good chunk of the headphones.
Probably played the rev2 about 4 hours so far.
What I thought would be wrong with it, weak bass, (nope, far from, kind of amazing)
Thought it would be thin sounding, nope
So far, I've been having fun playing with just one oscillator trying to learn more about it, you can do a f'n lot with one oscillator on this, and I just found out thru this forum I can run a 2nd oscillator thru the aux envelope or make a stack. That alone blew my mind.
I feel like a lot of things with the design of this synth is to answer "yes" as much as possible.
I'm still kind of yearning for a prophet 5 and they have one at another store, but I'm going to take the prophet rev2 and do a side by side before my trial period is over to knock that monkey off my back. I played a Teo5, Take5, PolyBrute, Triton 6, I played the Trigon 6 side by side with the Rev2 but the Rev2 drew me in a bit more. I was able to create a cool riff with the ARP a lot faster on the REV2.
The keyboard on this is astounding and the velocity sensitive keys are amazing they make the sounds come alive.

I did a system reset of the oscillators and such, found the firmware was on rev 1.2 and it must be newer, haven't checked the serial on it but it's got the sequential badge on it.
Kind of made an "all of my love" Led Zepplen synth sound on it so far, just with one oscillator. Once I make the Jump sound and a couple of other 80's sounds from my childhood it will probably be a keeper.
Good to know a place like this exists !!!
Already have learned a few things from this place even before my first post so thanks!
