Is Anyone Using a Analog Delay With their P10 Rev4
« on: June 02, 2026, 03:44:23 PM »
I’ve seen the Walrus Meraki Dual Stereo Analog Delay demo. Was wondering 🤔 if anyone was using an analog delay with their Prophet 10 Rev 4? I recently acquired a Boss RE-2 that I use with my Prophet 10 Rev4. I have an Eventide Timefactor and Eventide Space and also a Roland RE-20 as well.
A analog delay has a different character than a digital delay. Some people use both analog and digital delays.  I use the RE-20 with my OBX8 and the Eventide Timefactor on my Moog Voyager and the Eventide Space on my PRO3SE.

I don't own a Meraki but it's on my pedal wish list.  Right now the delay pedal I'm using on the Rev4 is a Strymon Timeline.  Not analog, but excellent and very versatile.
Prophet 10, OB-X8m, Prophet 6, OB-6, 3rd Wave, Prophet 12m, Prophet Rev2-16, Toraiz AS-1, Pro 2, Korg Polysix, Roland JP-8080, Roland System-8, Virus TI2, Moog SlimPhatty, Hydrasynth desktop, Roland SPD-SX SE / Octapad, Maschine, Cubase/Ableton/Akai MPC

When it comes to analog delay I use som different boxes to my P5 (expanded to P10): Roland RE-2 (not analog per definition but quit goods replica of the RE201) Roland RE201, Roland DC50 (if considered as delay as it gives delay as well). Not at the same time. Most used is the RE-2.

The Timeline is a good pedal. I have the Eventide Timefactor. I’ve heard demos of the Meraki with a OBX8.

You may consider this to be totally off topic and unrelated. I don’t have a Prophet 5 (or 10), but I do have the Meraki pedal. I use it almost constantly with my Minimoog. There is some similarity in terms of pedigree and mono-(non-stereo)-ness. I am quite certain that if (when?) I acquire a Prophet 10, I will run it through a Meraki. The mono (non-stereo) analog synth directed into that pedal has felt pretty magical to me. I’m pretty sure that every recording I have made with the Minimoog includes the Meraki. I suspect the P10 with the Meraki would be an equally good pairing.

The following video I made some months ago was mainly created to demonstrate the Tube Driver pedal, but it also has back-to-back comparisons that change between pedals including the Meraki. So while it is not a Prophet, it does show how the Meraki helps the mono (monaural) synth.

As both analog and mono delay, I use Chase Bliss Thermae. But my more permanently connected (stereo) delay pedals are Strymon Volante and, to the extent that they serve as delay among many other things, Strymon Deco as well as Chase Bliss Onward. The Thermae is great in series, first a mono delay, which gets then thrown around by stereo delay, a sound that's otherwise difficult to achieve. Thermae and Onward together are overkill, so I usually swap those.

Thanks for the link. The Meraki is a great pedal. I’ve heard it used on demos with a OBX8.

I’ve heard good things in regards to Chase Bliss pedals.

I run my prophet-10 through the Meraki every time I play it. Sounds incredible; no surprise.

I have the Meraki living on an effects bus in Logic, so I can send all of my synths though it. The Meraki is that unique. I also have the Weiss Exciter plugin inserted into the Meraki return channel. This adds a nice sheen to the Meraki without altering its (beautiful) character.

I can confidently state that I’ll never part with the Meraki (or the Prophet) unless Walrus releases an upgraded version with line level ins and outs - the only drawback in its design, IMHO. Fortunately I have an Arturia 16rig that provides the required level matching.

Hope this helps.
