Is it possible to edit the Layer B program name via the SoundTower Librarian?

I ran into something similar with the SoundTower editors before. In many of their Librarian versions, some parameters (especially layer-specific program names like Layer B) are not directly editable from the librarian interface. The software often lets you edit the main patch name, but layer names sometimes only update when they are changed on the hardware and then re-synced back to the computer.

Prophet Rev 2 16 voice Desktop.

I’ve virtually given up now and just assume it has to be done on the synth, which is really annoying considering for me one of the main functions of librarian software should be basic renaming of patches.

I don't remember if you can the name of Layer B, but if you can't, you can still easilly swap layer A and B and then edit the new layer A name. Then swap A and B again if you want.

Possibly, but that's a work-around. You can name the patch differently (or the same) for each layer if you want to on the synth. The Librarian should be able to allow you to just type a name in and change it, like you can with layer A. Perhaps you can, but I haven't found a way.

OK have now worked out how to do this, will leave here for any future questions along the same lines...

• In the SoundTower Librarian, right-click the desired patch, select Rename and type in your patch name. This will change the name for Layer A.
  
  
• Then click the Edit button on the top line of the Librarian which takes you back to the basic oscillators editing page on the software. On the left hand side half way down it shows the current name for Layer B. Click on this to rename as desired.
  
  
• Then press Write on the synth, twice, to save the changes.
  
  

Both layers are now re-named without having to perform endless knob spinning on the synth.
