Volume issue with Prophet 12

Volume issue with Prophet 12

Hello,
I'm experiencing some volume issues with my DSI Prophet 12. Sometimes, when I switch patches, there's no sound until I turn the main volume knob down and then back up. Additionally, I have a patch that swells and I like to add distortion to it, but the volume keeps rising to a painfully high level, forcing me to constantly adjust the volume knob to control it.

Has anyone else encountered these problems? I've tried using contact cleaner on both the volume and distortion knobs, but that didn't help. It seems like it might be a circuitry issue, but I'm not an electrical engineer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using a DAW or MIDI controller with the P12? If so, it may be sending MIDI CC07 to it without realizing. CC07 is Master Volume, and the Master Vol pot on the P12 will always respond to it. See if you can turn CC07 off at the source controller.

If you're not using a DAW or MIDI controller reach out to support@sequential.com.
