PEK Keyboard Replacement

PEK Keyboard Replacement

Hi, all!

I have a very early Poly Evolver Keyboard (serial number 32!) that I love dearly, but the keyboard action is all but unplayable. There is almost no weight to the keys and they bounce and flutter like a diving board when you release them and they clatter and clack noisily. Interestingly, the synth hasn't been played from its keyboard that much; it's mostly played over MIDI. But I really like the idea of it being a complete instrument that you can just sit and play.

My question is, am I right in presuming that it's a Fatar keyboard in there? And if so, if I order a new mono-aftertouch Fatar keyboard to replace it (like the ones on the Rev. 4 Prophets), will it work? Will it just plug right in?

Thanks in advance,

Reach out to support@sequential.com if you haven't already! The PEK does use a 5 octave fatar - the mfg. part number is Fatar 61 TP/9S+P+C(DE)+Aftertouch.
