OBX8 vintage / detune values in Unison mode

OBX8 vintage / detune values in Unison mode

hi All!

Im finding that for me personally I enjoy a bit more osc detune than the standard Vintage knob allows. I can tweak this to an extent in pg2 with the "max detune" parameter, but (annoyingly I think) is seems to snap back to a max of 64 when you subsequently move the vintage knob. I would have thought that the vintage would scale from 0 to whatever the max in pg2 is?
Also Im pretty sure that when in Unison mode, the tuning offsets are not as pronounced as they are in non-Unison mode - ie you can make it sound wonky in poly mode with max vintage and max pg2 setting, but when you then put that into unison, all the tunings seem to snap back to "pretty close to fully calibrated". Am I imagining this?

I would LOVE to get a bit more out there tuning wise with the OBX8. I udnerstand the want for presets to translate.... but you know.... VINTAGE all the way! :)

Many thanks!

Maybe the pg2 parameter you want is VOICE DETUNE RANGE?  Yeah, it changes in relation to the VINTAGE knob setting, so you have to set it back.

Yeah, you just have to keep adjusting the VOICE DETUNE RANGE back out after changing the vintage parameter.  It's bothersome.

I think what we really need is like a modifier option to freely tune the oscillators instead of the stepped tuning that doesn't even show the note step on the available screen, so we can actually retune after adding some page 2 triangle FM over a value of about 30.  That would make the secondary, variable FM a lot more useful at the extremes.
