Oscillator Drift and Unstable Tuning

Oscillator Drift and Unstable Tuning

Hi everyone, I’m Skyler and I’m pretty new here. I’ve been using my OB-6 for about three months now and I’ve run into a problem that’s starting to get frustrating. Lately, the oscillators seem to drift out of tune unpredictably, even after a long warm-up. Sometimes one voice will sound stable while another is way off, and I have to keep hitting the "calibrate" function to bring it back in line, but the issue comes back after a while. It’s making it really hard to record or play live without things sounding off.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of tuning instability on the OB-6? If so, do you have any advice on what might be causing it or steps I can take to fix it? I’d really appreciate any guidance from more experienced users.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, I’ve had this problem. You need to clear the calibration tables by holding down manual and then pressing program 3. Reboot ob6 then run calibration again. Do this only when the ob6  has warmed up for at least 30 minutes to an hour. The pitch shifting is caused by the temperature tables drifting from one to another. The trick is to have only ONE calibration table so it DOESNT drift. Trust me, I battled with this for months! Hope it helps!

This is a rather regular issue with the OB-6 (and other VCO synthesizers). But it's unusual that it's off right after calibration. Allow the synth to warm up for at least 30–45 minutes before pressing the Global/Calibrate button.
