MIDI sustain bug

MIDI sustain bug

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone else has this problem using MIDI CC64 sustain.
I am driving the T5 keyboard from a Nord, and transmitting sustain messages from the Nord's sustain pedal via DIN.

This works fine, provided the external physical footswitch setting on the T5 is not set to 'seq start/stop'. In that case, releasing the sustain pedal cuts off *all* notes, including those that are currently held down on the T5 keyboard. Of course, this footswitch setting should be independent and not alter the response to a MIDI command.

I noticed also that the pressing and releasing the T5 hold button has the same unwanted effect.

Is it also weird that the MIDI CC64 lights up the Hold button, where a sustain pedal directly into the T5 footswitch (with the mode set to Sustain, of course) doesn't light up the button? Does the T5 confuse CC64 ( sustain) with CC66 (hold) maybe?

The current configuration and operation makes sense to me but I recognize others may have different opinions.

On my Take 5 the Hold LED lights up when I use the sustain pedal. Maybe when you were testing you plugged into the Pedal input by accident -- I know I've done that several times.
