Delay MIDI Clock causes warbling/glitching

Delay MIDI Clock causes warbling/glitching
« on: August 09, 2025, 04:21:10 PM »
I'm noticing when sending MIDI clock for the delay to sync to, the Delays (Delay, BBD, Tape1+2, etc) all have a hard time with it, and it sounds like tape wow+flutter and sometimes glitching, not beat sync'd delays as expected. With CLK SYNC unchecked, it works as expected.

I've tried with MIDI clocks from Cakewalk Sonar and Roland TR-8S

I haven't tried this on my TEO-5 as it's packed away in preparation for a move but a similar thing happens on my Korg Prologue. When the internal clock rate is set to a different rate to that of the MIDI/USB input clock, the Prologue jumps between the two different values. It mostly happens on the first note of a sequence immediately after hitting play which leads me to believe that there's a slight lag while it works out what clock to follow. My workaround is to adjust the internal clock rate to match the input rate. I'll be interested to hear if this works on the TEO.

Hm. Sometimes I need to sync to the external clock e.g. when playing a sequence or with a synced LFO.
I donīt really understand why it glitches: With my REV2 the delay works fine also when syncing to an external clock

PS: Tested with clock signal provided by MPC One

I really want to know what results you got after testing?

It sounds like if someone would manually change the delay time which results in a changing of pitch of the delay. I canīt use delay with external clock for this reason.
