And of course the most important question is:

Will it be possible to poly-chain desktop module with TEO-5 keyboard to have 10-voices monster-synth? :-)

I really dislike the slow rollout of desktop units - this happened to me with the Minilogue XD as well.

A lot of us want desktop units in the first place but will reluctantly buy keyboard units if we feel there is no other option. Now I have a keyboard unit I didn’t really want and a desktop unit exists that would have fit my studio better.

I’d love it if Sequential had a trade in program or something, but I’m sure that will never happen.

There was info from @gus that they are thinking about polychain for modules:

Polychain for the modules is not implemented yet, but is very high on our feature request list. Stay tuned!

TEO-10 is coming ;-)

When I first started looking at the TEO-5, they were $1499. Then, they jumped up to $1850 when the tariffs were introduced. Then the Chinese tariffs came back down to 10%. And now, they are introducing the TEO-5 desktop at $1399. Hey Oberheim, when are you going to bring your prices back down to earth now that the tariffs have eased? I understood when you raised them, but there has to be some give-and-take here.

Wondering if that had something to do with the choice to manufacture these particular synths overseas?  Because the price of a Prophet 10 and OB-X8 hasn't changed.  I know Moog crawled all up in that overseas manufacturing thing because it looked good at the time, wondering if they'll be regretting it soon.
Prophet 10, OB-X8m, Prophet 6, OB-6, 3rd Wave, Prophet 12m, Prophet Rev2-16, Toraiz AS-1, Pro 2, Korg Polysix, Roland JP-8080, Roland System-8, Virus TI2, Moog SlimPhatty, Hydrasynth desktop, Roland SPD-SX SE / Octapad, Maschine, Cubase/Ableton/Akai MPC

I want it :-)

I would want one too if it would be possible to daisy chain a TEO-5 with a TEO-5 desktop module to have a TEO-10.

I don't understand why they didn't implement that right out of the box. Hydrasynth and Minilogue already do poly-chaining. They'd sell a ton of these if they would add this feature.

I want a TEO-5 because the price is great and the Oberheim sound is great.
I have a Prophet 10 and am thinking of getting the TEO-5 module, and put it on top of the prophet.

Anyone who thinks the keyboard would be a better option because you have access to both LFO's and Octave switching ?

I do find I need 61 keys, so that's why I'm leaning towards the module.

And I definitely would love an OBX8 in the future.

Octave switching is relevant only to the keyboard version.  On the module you’d switch octaves on whatever keyboard you’re controlling it with.

Having access to both LFOs without a toggle is convenient, but not a reason to choose the keyboard over the module alone.  How much time do you spend tweaking LFOs when using your synths?

But, if you do get the keyboard version, it has the Low Split which makes the smaller keyboard more useful.
OB-6 module, Take 5, TEO-5, plus many other synths.

Thank you for the feedback.   Do you find you need/want more than 44 keys ?
thanks again,

I like the sound and the sale price was really good.
I am going to keep it.

Designed a stand for it.
