Layer a & B

Layer a & B

Can anyone tell me how the Layer A + B is working.

This is what happens to me and my Tetra:

1. I create a default sound in Program 1, Bank 1
2.  I press Edit B/Combo to edit the second layer
3. I then turn the select knob to find a sound like program 2 bank 1, but that just means I change the overall sound to Program 2 bank 1

The overall concept does not make any sense in my head. I can press Edit B/combo in any program but the sound for the second layer seems to be a random sound and you are only able to change it by adjusting the different parameters. Is this correct. Are you not able to scroll through different sounds and pick the one you need for your layer?

Under the Global menu there is a parameter:

Program Copy Utility

Enables layer A or layer B of a program to be copied to layer A or B of the same or a different program. The top line displays the
current bank and program. Use increment (+) or decrement (-) to choose the layer to be copied. Then use SELECT to select the destination bank, program, and layer and increment/decrement to change the values.

This function is also available using the free Soundtower editor, where you are able to copy the parameters from a Program into a chosen bank of another Program, (see the Edit Menus - Import Layer).
