It's timeless and yet it still takes me to new places.

What a sweet post! Of all the synth-creator legends, Dave is the one I most wished I could've met, just to say a quick hello and thank you.

The Pro One was my first synth, and the Prophet 5 was my dream synth from that point on. I ended up with a rev 2 P5 for a while, then married into a rev 3. When the rev 4 was announced, my money was sent immediately. I adore my P6 and Trigon as well as various oddballs like the Evolver and Drumtraks. Happy Birthday, Dave - and thank you for doing what you did!

Nice! A good reminder to celebrate a legend. I did not know April 2 was his birthday. I’ve rarely been affected or saddened in any big way when someone I have never met passes. But when Dave Smith passed away, I was truly in a funk for a few days and had sorrow much like when I have lost friends and family. He was truly one of the best. I wish I could have met him.
