So I've owned my Pro 2 for about four years but hadn't gotten around to exploring longer sequences until now. I'm waiting for a new Mac Mini, so this seems the perfect time to try out my hardware-only options.
I'm able to select 32x8 under the Pro 2 sequencer's options, but I can't get the note sequencer on track 1 to record more than 16 steps.
I wondered whether the paraphonic sequencer setting lowered the step number, since the Pro 2 wasn't designed for sequencing four pitched voices initially, but even with paraphonic sequencing off, I can't get to 32 steps.
When I looked at threads about the Pro 2's sequencer, and at videos about it on YouTube, no one seemed to discuss the longer length. In fact, a ridiculously remedial 20-minute vid featured someone saying they weren't going to demonstrate 32x8 "for the purposes of this video" even though the entire things was only about the Pro 2 sequencer.
I tried step mode and also live recording with a Syntakt as the master. I've also tried a Wavestate. The Syntakt was set for four bars and the Wavestate for two.
Every type of sequencing seems to work perfectly: paraphonic, filters, etc. The one thing I haven't been able to do is continue to the 17-32 button. A large R on every track seems to block me from adding notes there.
Does anyone know of a solution? I hope that I'm just overlooking some obvious setting.
(BTW: Shouldn't a Sequential forum give you the option to use the Sequential font?! Imagine trying to read this post if I'd used it! If I can't post a font homage to Dave, I guess I'll honor Stanley Kubrick!)
