Modulating envelope stages

Hi guys,

This is stemming from a guy on the pro 2 section having problems with the p2, when he records say the amp envelope release knob into the sequencer when it plays back it is reversed.

This is due to what I have always thought is a bug, when you modulate the envelope stages they act in reverse, so a positive modulation causes them to shorten while a negative modulation causes them to lengthen.

He asked support and Carsten said "this is normal behaviour and not a bug".

Am I alone in thinking this is not normal?

I saw the post and it didn't sound quite logical to me. It would only make sense to me in the context of recursive modulation (as a means to emulate exponential/non-linear envelope behaviour), i.e. when you'd modulate single stages of an envelope (attack, release, and delay) with the according envelope itself as a modulation source. In that context higher modulation values will cause more snappiness exponentially, hence shorten the times and vice versa. But that doesn't seem to be the scenario. So I'm a bit confused as well.
