Saving Sound Bug?

Saving Sound Bug?
« on: January 31, 2025, 08:10:55 AM »
Hello,

I had been trying to save some of my edited sounds to another spot on the unit and used the Compare option to decide where to store it. On a few occasions when switching back from the compared sound, it would then play an init sound. Not the sound I had made. I didn't hit the Manual button during the compare. It occurred on a few occasions. I was in a User bank, and will try other banks to see if it occurs again. I'm on 2.0.0.1.

Anyone else have an issue like this? I tried an OB-X8 at Guitar Center and hitting Manual during the sound compare didn't change it to an init.

Thanks,
Eric

Yes - there seems to be bug with the compare/save in the latest OS. I‘ve reported it to Sequential & they could confirm.
It‘s quite the annoying bug as you tend to loose work.

Thanks for acknowledging there is a bug, and that it isnt just me that it is happening to. I submitted a ticket, but it seemed like let's see if it happens again. I included some clips of it happening so they can see it happening. Hopefully they're working on a fix, because like you, I lost some patches I wanted to save. It's annoying. Hopefully there is a solution in the works.

I‘m sure they will fix it, all the Sequential and Focusrite folks I‘ve met are super cool and passionate about their products.

That's why I use to have the first user bank always beeing empty. In the past I always got in trouble when I just jammed a little bit and then realized I needed to save this patch. But I never knew which slots were free to save it there.

So with this solution I can just save it immediately to Bank 1 and compare afterwards without stress. After finding the right slot I copy the patch there and overwrite the slot in Bank 1 again with Init Patch. In this way everything is tidy and clear and you always have 8 slots free for several variations to compare.
