THIS IS A PRE-RELEASE VERSION created by cloning the panel made for the Take 5 and changing parameters to match the TEO-5 MIDI Implementation manual. This needs to be tested with the actual synth, and after that there will probably be some changes to controls. Could be done pretty quickly if someone brings a TEO-5 to me

Trying to figure this out on Win10... had to install the .exe as Admin and now have Ctrlr version 5.3.201.

When trying to open the Teo-5 panel it gives an error and can't parse the XML file. Any ideas? Thanks....

Connected it this evening to my TEO-5.
The panel works correctly when changing values on my TEO-5.
The only thing that does not work is the Recv Sysex. The TEO-5 is not responding at all.
When I initiate a bank dump from the TEO-5 after pressing 'DO IT' (Recv SysEx), it seems like it is receiving all 16 programs in the bank but actually it receives only 8the first eight.
Each program is listed twice in the program bank.

I already figured it out..
In the LUA setupsynthdata the parameter was programDataSysExRequestHeader = "f0 1 5a 05"
And it should be programDataSysExRequestHeader = "f0 10 5a 05"
Now it's working fine!

Thanks for spotting that mistake - I will be sure to change programDataSysExRequestHeader to have 10h not 1 in the next update. I'll see if I can "desk check" the receiving of banks, it's a little tough without the actual synth ...

Who's going to bring their TEO-5 to me, to help get this all sorted? 

Maybe some can be done remotely ... can any TEO-5 user who has this Ctrlr panel please take a look at the settings of the oscillator detune vs what's showing in the panel?  I left the detune parm on the panel with a range of 0-63 because I did see that some programs used 63, however the display (when I saw it in the music store once) shows -31 to +31 detune range. I'd have thought maybe -31 detune would be stored as 0, -1 stored as 30, zero detune stored as 31, and +31 would be stored as 62, so then what is value 63?  Or is there a "dead spot" in the middle, so that both 31 and 32 are zero detune ... or else is there some mapping in between at least one value?

First of all, thanks for the effort to alter The panel for TEO-5.

I don’t have my synth here but the midi implementation manual shows the following:

NRPN# Param Range
3 Osc 1 Detune 0-63
4 Osc 2 Detune 0-63

Yes, so I programmed the Detune rotary dials to go from 0-63, but on the synth I'm pretty sure Detune shows -31 to +31 (not +32) in the display, and somewhere in the middle of the 0-63 stored range is zero detune.

If anyone is within driving distance of Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center, we are local - could pretty quickly figure out what's what, and I'd bring my Take 5 to do a side-by-side sonic comparison with your TEO-5. Send me a private message about that.

I've been developing panels on Macs with the precompiled Ctrlr 5.3.198 binary - used that successfully from Mojave to Monterey, and more recently also on Sonoma (I don't have Sequoia installed anywhere yet). I don't currently use Windows PCs for music, but I had opened some of my panels with Ctrlr 5.3.201 on my Win11 laptop just to make sure that worked (and it does, no issues). I just installed 5.3.201 on an older Win10 laptop, and yes it also works fine with the TEO-5 panel (downloaded directly from GitHub). "Can't parse the XML file" sounds like the panel file was truncated or otherwise mangled during download. The file size and contents need to match what's showing on GitHub. Panel files are XML, which is a text file - can be viewed with TextEdit, Notepad, or any other text editor.

btw I'd been waiting to make a user manual until the TEO-5 panel could be tested against hardware; until then, it's a clone of the Take 5 panel, it works pretty much the same, so see the Take 5's manual

There are unfortunately no values displayed on the TEO-5 at all....
Th midi monitor shows values from 0-63.

From my vast experience (seen once in store, and reading manual) I'm pretty sure Osc Detune -31 to +31 can be seen somewhere - is it in the Program menu which shows additional oscillator parameters? If so, compare what that shows with the MIDI monitor ...

I redownloaded the panel and .png file, same XML error on trying to open. Do the panel and the .png need to be in a certain place on the hard drive, in a certain folder, etc? I am just opening the panel from my downloads folder and I am trying to do this in Bitwig as a vst3.

EDIT - downloading the "raw" code worked, I had been right-clicking and doing a "save as"

Now my only issue is (which may be related to the prior posted sysex issue) that I saved patch and then upon trying to reload, the Take-5 is just stuck as "receiving sysex". Other functions seem to be all working so far.

You are right!
Detune range is -31 to 31 for both oscillators in the TEO-5 display.

In the panel Osc 1 detune does not respond to a change of settings in the program menu.
Osc 2 does change the values in the panel (zero setting in menu shows value 31 in panel).
When i change the detune value for Osc 1, there is no midi CC data recieved in the midi monitor, only NRPN..
I reported this a few minutes ago to Oberheim support.

When I send NRPN MIDI param data from the TEO-5 instead of CC, the panel responds correctly to changes of the detune parameter for both oscillators.

Released TEO-5 panel v1.0.0 today - no longer a pre-release version, after finally getting physical access to the synth. Osc Detune control range is now -31 to +31. (Turns out the synth recognizes both NRPN values 31 and 32 as zero detune, and changing the values in the TEO-5 menu goes from -1 to 0 to 0 (again) to +1; to simplify the TEO-5 panel, its control just goes from -1 to 0 to +1.) Added/updated controls for beta OS version 1.2.0.15. Sequence-only copy now works. Changed timing to better allow continued playback when changing programs while sequencer is running.
