FW 2.0.4 Factory presets velocity/AT issue

FW 2.0.4 Factory presets velocity/AT issue
« on: December 21, 2024, 06:10:28 AM »
Recently I updated my P 10 to FW 2.0.4, and all the factory presets velocity/AT values was 000.
As they can't be modified as write protected, i found a workaround correcting the velocity/AT to 127 (where activated),  storing them to user locations and with SoundTower editor save as Sysex files, then finally reload them to their original factory location.
For someone who had the same issue I attached the P10 Factory presets version 2.0.4

Thanks this is very useful. I had the same issue with my P10. Bought it after Christmas, updated to 2.0.4 and experienced the same velocity/AT change in sounds. As a new owner how often do Sequential do updates? It really is an awesome sounding synth.

Firat offer all; it’s not a software synth with updates now and then. Since release it was som minor updates, one big update (2.0) som years ago and maybe one smaller update since that. Updates are rare now when the P5/10 is pretty much set as instruments. But who knows…

Hi, I was curious how you edited and replaced all of the factory presets. Did you change each preset's AT and Vel values one at a time on the instrument, or within SoundTower? (and if done on ST, how/where?)

My problem with the AT/Vel on the factory presets is the AT is way too strong at 127 to be usable for me and I wish i could change all the AT->filter values to 10 and AT->LFO values to ~20. Or if not, just turn AT response off altogether.

If there was a way to batch all of those edits somehow it'd be great. Thx for any tips

I loaded the factory banks on the user banks in order to edit and save them.
Unfortunately you have to edit and save them one at a time in the user banks, then save the edited banks on Soundtower as Sysex format, then reload the saved banks to their original factory location as I described.

Ok, thanks, I understand. If the AT amount edits were something i could do completely in SoundTower, I might attempt it. Having to bring all of em down with the Inc+/Dec- buttons on the unit would probably break me :) I'm cool with continuing to forgo Aftertouch.

For overwriting the factory banks you don’t need Soundtower btw:
