Tempest multiouts problem

Tempest multiouts problem
« on: October 26, 2016, 05:41:04 AM »
Hi,
I have a question. when i connect the audio outputs and not send them any sounds, keeping the routing setting of all the sounds on mainouts, the result is a total chaos. it's normal? maybe I should physically disconnect the connectors from multiouts every time I use a project that works only with the mainouts?

Yes it is due to the voice allocation calculation. To fix,  assign pads to outs. So of you assign a kick to voice 3 and have an audio cable from  the mains and voice 3 (aside from mains each physical out is stereo) the mains will play all voices(aka pads) except the kick which will be routed to voice 3.

Use the outs sparringly to maximize polyphony if you have a busy beat. Or at least carefully plan voice allocation.

I wish you could configure in software whether a voice goes to the main outs or it's appropriate audio out (assuming a cable is connected). It's a pain to have to keep unplugging cables all the time.

I try and stick to a voice outs system because of this....
