Has anyone used a TR-8S and its trigger out to trigger the Pro-3 sequencer?
I was playing around with it yesterday and wasn't getting desirable results.
When using the trigger out of the TR-8S (which sends out short pluses), I can only get very short (tiny) gate lengths. The synth gets to the ENV release cycle straight away which discounts any variation on the gate length settings in the Sequencer. I've tried using both the External In & CV in as the source for the trigger and there is no difference.
It really makes sequences less musical not having good control over the envelope behaviour.
The work around is to route an audio signal from the TR-8S to an assignable out. This not ideal because it takes up one of the drum sounds and I also have to dial in a sample of perfect length to engage the envelope correctly.
Any info would be great.
