PX motherboard

PX motherboard

Hi -

Based on the stuff I read in this forum, it seems like a PX motherboard is a problem for some units.

I just bought a new PX and works just fine. Booted up about 30 times and user samples go in and work fine.

My question is, since PX is discontinued, what happens if there is a motherboard problem 2 years from now? Will Sequential still have the motherboard available to fix my problem? Is there a way to get a motherboard now, so I have a spare?

Thanks for any advice.

You might want to consider a spare power supply for the motherboard as well, since they seem to sometimes go bad as well.
Prophet X, Prophet 6, Nord Electro 5D 73, Korg Wavestate, NDLR, Arturia Matrixbrute, Waldorf Iridium, BARP 2600, Eurorack and altogether too many guitars.

Congrats on picking up a PX! Even though the X/XL are discontinued, we will continue to service them for as long as we can. We forecast spare parts stock well into the future, especially for less common components (EOL'd processors, motherboards, RAM, custom parts like wood sides or metal, etc). If you run into problems outside of the warranty or many years from now, just reach out and we will help you out. Enjoy your new synth!

Thanks Gus. This is really good to know. Gives me a bit of peace of mind with respect to my PX.

I would say that for every problem you hear about on a forum, do not forget all the happy users who are far too lazy to post to say that they have had no problems (myself included)! :)

So it is true to say there have been problems, but PSU voltage seems to be a root cause in quite a few (not all) and easily fixable.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. That's good news.

I'm super appreciative of my PX. I had to buy a bunch of synths to know that PX is great fit for what I want (sequential sound and sound shaping + adding whatever samples I want). Can't beat that.

It's a great keyboard. I bought mine many years ago and have had no problems with it.
