feature request :Aftertouch amount!!

feature request :Aftertouch amount!!
« on: October 09, 2024, 06:30:32 PM »
Hi
Happy owner of a prophet 10 desktop here but there is something that i find really irritating...There is no way to set the aftertouch amount on the prophet 5/10 series like you can define it in ob6 and prophet 6.
When someone applies aftertouch for example to the vcf,it suddenly opens fully the filter and a smooth sound can became very loud and annoying. It is very difficult to control aftertouch from a keyboard so this option 'd be really useful!

I hope that someone 'd see this request and find a way to include it in a next update.

Hi, I think it has already been added on the previous updates. I say "I think" because I haven't done the update yet, but I'm almost sure.

I haven't read anything about it in the manual or the 0S 2.0 manual addendum....

My prophet 10 came with 2.01 already installed and the latest firmware update in sequential site is 2.01...For the panel the latest update is the 1.1.1.
The link you sent me has the 2.04 firmware and 1.1.3 panel updates. Are theey official updates?Do they run properly?
--where is the manual and the directions for the new features?
--is the update procedure safe for my custom presets?

That's from this official site ( Top most post #1 on this P-5 / 10 forum site  ....
This site you're on right now. )
Post #4 (also in blue text ) contain the "newest" manuals.
Post #1 also have instructions how to use the "newly" added features / upgrades ( aftertouch, Q-comp. and more )
Just scroll down and read   :)

I have used 2.04 for approx a year ... No problems.

Your custom presets will be OK.
However ....
Do a backup before anything else just in case, and follow the steps in the
above mentioned post when update OS and PANEL ....

Cheers !

I don’t think the custom presets will be ok, at least not backwards compatibility wise. If you choose to downgrade later on and if you did modify/write your custom presets on the newer OS, know that these presets will normally no longer be usable under a previous firmware because the underlying data structure has changed in 2.0.4.
