Hi, I'm the creator of MIDI Goblin. It does a bunch of things
- its a hardware patch librarian for synths that use nrpn and cc for their parameters (sorry no sysex)
- it can send program change messages so you can load patches saved locally by name instead of memorizing bank/patch numbers
- its a midi cc lfo
- scale and chord generator (based on received note values)
- It can morph midi cc patches
- theres a dummy simple 32 step sequencer
- and its an apeggiator for received midi note messages...this could be useful for prophet 5 and 10 owners since it allows you to use your synths own keyboard to generate arpeggios..a feature I was kinda of suprised is missing from the 5/10
Im wondering if anyone in Toronto would be willing to test out MIDI Goblin MIDI Goblin with me. It would take about an hour (realistically a few seconds but I'd like to grab some footage if possible)
Im really curious as to weather or not turning off a prophet 5/10s local control will allow for arpeggios to play while the keys are being held down. In theory it should work just fine...someone told me they don't have arpeggiators which is kind of odd, so it seems like it would be a nice thing for prophet 5/10 owners to have...heres the goblin (ive posted some info on it here before)
and heres a video of the arpeggiator working on a dx-7 and juno 106. The 106 doesn't have a local control option so each note only starts arping when they are released (holding the key down, prevents off messages from being processed). Since the 5 and 10 have local control options, they shouldn't have this limitation.
