New Soundtower release

New Soundtower release
« on: September 18, 2024, 08:30:17 AM »
As I'm guessing it won't be announced, it seems the new Soundtower OBX8 version is out.  None of my issues are fixed, and I basically find it unuseable.

I wanted to be able to stash the module away from me, and edit with the editor, but instead I think I'm going to have to find a way to mount the OBX8 somewhere I can reach it to edit, and throw this Soundtower thing in the bin.

Is anyone else happy with this piece of... software?

I find the standalone versions of their editors useful for sound design.  I've never tried to use them as the primary control surface for the synth though.

I would recommend posting reproduced bugs here for visibility, and emailing clear descriptions of the bugs with repro steps directly to editors@soundtower.com. They are a very small team, but they do read emails and log bugs.

Looks like 2.0.5 is out.  No communication, as usual.  They might have fixed some stuff.  Testing...

Do they send a manual when you purchase the editor ?  Link in their site doesn’t work. I’d like to make sure I understand how the librarian works before purchasing.
My new album “Technology For The Youth” is out now on Vinyl CD and Digital at  http://circuit3.Bandcamp.com

I learned from someone who has purchased the v2 OBX8 standalone that there is no manual right now.
