OBX8 doesn't react to MIDI CC
« on: September 06, 2024, 01:19:15 AM »
My OBX8 doesn't react to MIDI CCs properly. I've set MIDI COntrol Enable ON, Param Send CC and Param Receive CC. When I input some automation points into the automation score in Logic X, it doesn't react. The Manuel says 33 for Cutoff, that doesn't work.

Does anyone know a solution? Thanks.

I would recommend downloading 'Midi Monitor' - https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

Open it with all MIDI apps closed, select the OB-X8, turn some params and verify that the synth is outputting CC's.

Then, do the same thing with your session open. In the 'sources' tab in Midi Monitor, you can see if a particular CC is being sent from Logic, and you can see if it is being read by the OB-X8.

You can also try the reverse of your setup as a quick test. If you record enable a MIDI track and move knobs on the X8, do those CC's get recorded as automation in Logic?

Good luck!

Thanks a lot, in fact, it doesn't work properly also on the Prophet 10. That's why I'm going to check on that in gerenal and get back, if I have a solution or needed more advice.
