Arp and Seq sync creates short jarring silence break between chord changes

Question: When using the Pro3 Arp with 'Hold', there's a break of silence when new notes are played. I understand this is to get the new notes in sync with the BPM, but why the jarring break of silence between chords?

On the Korg Prologue, for example, new Arp chords blend seamlessly into the existing BPM. The previous notes continue until the new notes register in sync.

The workaround on the Pro3 seems to be to not use 'Hold' but to always hold one key down and when changing chords don't release previous chord until next notes are pressed. Seems a bit clunky- If performing and you mistakenly let your hands off the keybed...
