I'm using a MIDI sequencer (not DAW) on XP.
Using old fashioned MIDI cables.
Tetra tracked fine at first. But now when I push play for a sequence, it gets hung up (randomly).
I have to switch the patch dial to get it to clear out.
But now it does it constantly.
I tested it with the USB cable - and it tracks 100% through that.
But, I need the standard old MIDI Cables to work.
Anyone else have this problem?
Know of a fix?
I do as lot of midi sequencing using a DAW but also the hardware sequencer of an old ESQ1. All midi information on Logic and also from the ESQ and other controllers are routed via old Emagic Unitor 8 and Unitor amt8 interfaces using the 'standard' 5 pin DIN midi interface. I've not had any problems using the Tetra over 5 pin DIN aside from the odd note hang when I've stopped the sequencer mid note and the Tetra has not been sent appropriate midi note off messages, (or should I say midi note on 0 velocity for running status purposes). Luckily however the Uniter interfaces have a panic button that can be pressed that sends midi note off messages etc on all output channels when pressed.
You state that when using USB there is no problem, but you don't mention what sequencer you are using and what midi interface is utilised. Just wondering if something needs to be done in the settings of such?
