Prophet 5/10 unquantized cv input

Prophet 5/10 unquantized cv input

Can we please have the option to turn the quantization of the cv input off? I want to use a non-midi ribbon controller(trying to kill my desire for the Super Gemini and still live my Blade Runner dreams). Midi ribbon controllers have a coarse resolution compared to analog ribbons like Zorx. Please? Thank you

Quantization, while useful in many musical contexts, can limit the nuance and subtlety achievable with analog controllers like ribbons. By converting continuous analog signals into discrete digital values, quantization can introduce a degree of 'steppiness' or 'granularity' that some musicians find undesirable.

To me a modular synth is a better suited tool for that task while the Prophet 5/10 is another kind of tool.

If a modular synth is better suited, then why did they put cv and gate inputs on the back? That's the language of modular. Turning of the quantization opens up a world of possibiilties beyond ribbon controllers.

Yes, and this also limits the use of a filter CV pedal. It gets really steppy, not usable for slower filter sweeps.
I can't remember this was a problem on the P6 desktop and definitely not on the Prophet 600.
