There is a gap between 0 and the start of the general volume !: Is it normal ?

GIF

Good morning,

When I turn the general volume knob, the volume does not come in gradually at the beginning... there is no sound coming out until the first line, then quite a bit of direct sound! To put it another way, if we consider that each line increases the volume by 10%, then between 0 and 1 there is no volume at all and at 1 the volume goes directly to 10% without going through the values intermediaries!

Can you tell me if this is normal, if it requires adjustment or repair (knowing that my Take 5 is almost new and has not suffered any mistreatment.).

Thanks in advance.

Mine is the same way.  The knob is digitally scanned and sends/receives midi CC 7 I believe, and I do notice a bit of stepping at low volume levels.

Thank you for your reply ! But I can't bring myself to realize it: it's a big problem on stage with a big sound system with a big gap between "no sound" and "the arrival of the sound already loud"!
Is there anything to do to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance

In lieu of a direct fix for the volume knob, could you use the Amp Envelope Amount? It's the final volume/level before the output volume. - Not perfect, I know.

Confirmed on my T5 as well. I've never noticed it because my habit is to run the outputs fairly high in order to minimize the noise floor, and I control my overall levels through a mixer or my audio interface.

Just tried setting Osc1 Lvl, Osc2 Lvl, and Sub Lvl all to zero and adding value via the expression pedal in the mod matrix... and I'm still getting stepped levels at the lowest positions.

This may not be ideal schlep-wise, but it may be a job for an ol-skool analog volume pedal. That's probably only feasible with mono routing, though there may be more deluxe pedals out there. Preferably, some anti-aliasing of the low-volume steps could be implemented via firmware....

My T5 does the same. And if can be of any consolation, my Mono Evolver Keyboard is even worse (*much* worse) in this respect.
