How to fix unresponsive buttons?

Four of the buttons on my Prophet-6 desktop have stopped responding: Effect, Hold, Guide, and Unison. The synth has been sitting safely in a home studio with a dust cover on it. Definitely not dirty or mistreated.

As recommended I have:
1. Pounded the heck out of all of the buttons 100s of times to "self clean".
2. Updated the OS (now 1.7.5)
3. Re-initialized the synth.

Nothing is working. I'm thinking maybe I need to disassemble the synth and clean the buttons...? Can anyone recommend how to do this? I couldn't easily find a video on YouTube.
