Expression Pedal Moog EP-3 not working

Expression Pedal Moog EP-3 not working
« on: March 27, 2024, 07:54:33 PM »
I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I'm unable to get any results from Expression pedal.

Also the TRS cable somehow doesn't "click" fully into the socket. I can push it all the way in, and it pops back out by like 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch. Is this unit defective?

I find for example a patch with large sound change from Mod Slot 1 Modwheel (such as F1 P25) and change the Modulation Source to Expressn and nothing happens when I "give it some gas"

To test if pedal works do like this
- see to that global setting Foot pedal is Volume

Then any preset you play will give volume same as if using master volume knob
- I doubt that little popout is vital, there are different tolerances on plugs

Then you know pedal works as such
- Not sure if Moog pedal is working, Boss EV-5 compatible though works
- Korg and Yamaha pedals as I recall have different tip/ring reversed

Then change global setting to CC11

Then changing first modulation slot in F1 P25 does not make much audible difference
- just filter decay

Change all slots that have ModWheel as source to Expressn
- then to also have vibrato from wheel transferred to pedal you have to use another free slot
- so set source to Expressn, dest to lfo4 and value -5 as on the mod wheel

It works fine by me anyway.
- but I have an EHX expression pedal that I can swap tip/ring behavior if I want
- now it is set same as EV-5 type
- so first test with volume will tell

Good luck and Happy Easter!
