Connect rev2 to Babyface

Connect rev2 to Babyface
« on: January 19, 2024, 11:17:21 AM »
Hi, I'm looking how to connect Prophet with 2 unbalanced TRS outputs to Babyface's XLR female inputs.
I've made a research and found XLR-TRS cables. Will these cables work? Can be any problems in such connection?   https://www.amazon.co.uk/ROLAND-210920099-Roland-RCC-15-TRXM-Interconnect/dp/B01CR115O4
This is my first synth, sorry for noob questions.
thank you!

You shouldn't, the xlr are for microphone level signals.
Use the center 1/4" with normal unbalanced cable since that is what REV2 offer as outputs.

I have only one 1/4 input on Babyface (it's named headphones). On rev2 there is 2x2 1/4 outputs and single one also for Headphones.
So I should use single 1/4 cable, connecting from "phones" out on rev2 to "phones" in on Babyface?

My bad, I should have checked that particular interface.
- I've only had combined XLR with center having a 1/4" as well in all gear

Babyface Pro has two independent 1/4" inputs for instruments as well, on the side.

You need as you said in original post with TRS(tip, ring sleeve) or TS in one end and XLR other.
I cannot reach your link without entering a lot of stuff to show I am not a robot.
- so cannot confirm that choice

REV2 out unbalanced TS will most probably work with balanced TRS in that end too. One side of balanced with just be grounded which will be sensed by RME input.

Headphone is output, so no input for REV2.
