CV and Gate in Voice Assignment Clarification after upgrade to P10

Hi,

I use the CV and Gate In on the P5. After upgrading to a P10, is the voice assigned to the CV and Gate IN still voice 5 or does it move to voice 10? Do the CV and Gate work any different after the upgrade?

Thank You

I guess no one knows. Let me be more specific.

The original P10 removed voice 5 and seemingly arbitrarily enough voice 10 from voice rotation when a Gate and CV were plugged into the rear of the synth.

Do the new P10's work the same way?

Here is what the manual has to say about it:

Quote
Note also that when a jack is inserted into the Prophet-10’s rear-panel gate in jack, voice 5 is no longer available to play from the keyboard and will instead be triggered by the external gate signal.

Yeah.... That is from the P10 manual. Thank you. It is also the same in the P5 manual. I am not attempting to be sarcastic but just a thread or 2 over there is discussion about manual accuracy. Excuse me if in this particular case there is justification for a response greater than a quote from the manual.

If anyone else feels they can offer a response that would address the question and confirm that the Rev 4 P10 operates in the same manner as the original P10 or in a new way that does not remove voice 10 and only uses voice 5 regardless of Rev 4 P5 or P10 please do so.

Thanks again

Why not just simply try it and you have the answer?

If you have any reason to believe that Sequential’s P10 manual might be inaccurate, there is ample justification to address your concerns directly with support. Given P10’s switchable 5 voices limit in global settings, it is reasonable to assume that the manuals’ apparent consistency may not be an unlucky coincidence only.
