Lofi hiss

Anyone know if the Lofi effect is hissy as a natural result of its operation or if that hiss was added intentionally as part of the "lofi esthetic"?

It’s a lofi tape effect, so it’s emulated tape hiss.

That's what I figured -- had been tracking down noise interference from one of my hard drives and when that was resolved I still had a high noise floor stumping me til I realized it was the Lofi effect.
