From what i read, the most requested features would be

Vintage knob
MPE
larger harddrive
more user space

is Sequential still working on a new Prophet X firmware? How likely is it to happen?

it really would be so nice to have either more user banks or to be able to save to and load from usb stick.

for now an editor/ librerian, which includes sample transfer
 would already solve many problems

I haven't used it but Soundtower offer an editor / librarian:

https://www.soundtower.com/prophetx/

Lady Gaia offers a fantastic toolkit for transferring onto the PX, it's a sticky in the Prophet X section:

Also, you can transfer via USB stick.. in fact, it's the only way I know how to do it! I do recommend Lady Gaia's toolkit for that, works for me anyway!

Maybe others are aware of other options etc., but hopefully this is enough to get you started :)

Soundtower saved my bacon with the patches I saved for a show I'm doing. The only way it will connect (in Windows 11)
with my Prophet XL is when Multimode is turned on.

I am using a DoReMIDI pedal to do patch changes. The pedal was changing user patches,, randomly but as it turns out, only when MutliMode was on.

So I connected with MultiMode on, then when the Prophet is connected, I immediately turn off MultiMode. Then I save all user banks.

The hoops you need to jump through just to get things to work sometimes!

There is a documented bug in the current firmware such that only multimode and midi channel 2 work on the PX.
Prophet 6, Nord Electro, Waldorf Iridium, BARP 2600, Eurorack and altogether too many guitars.

If you mean ALL when you say multimode then yes, this is an acknowledged bug that I reported. The details are in this Forum Post

Disappointingly, this is nearly 3 years ago that I reported, with no sign of a fix from Sequential. I get they are a small company and must prioritise resources, and maybe the PX was not their best seller, but I am disappointed in the lack of action given what I paid for the synth. It still sounds gorgeous of course.
