Banks for KnobKraft ORM with 2.0 update

Banks for KnobKraft ORM with 2.0 update
« on: September 24, 2023, 03:57:31 PM »
I switched over from MIDI-OX to KnobKraft ORM. It's great and I'd like to keep using it, but I noticed only banks 1-8 are visible. Anyone know how to make the additional 2.0 firmware update banks show up?

Hi, I'm the author auf the Orm! Glad to hear you like it! I have never heard of the additional banks and sadly don't own a Take 5, is there any more information about it? I have to dig up the Take 5 manual, I think it did not include any sysex specific information so the adaptation might have been made by guessing some data.

Ok, found the addendum here: https://davesmith.wpenginepowered.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Take-5-OS-2.0-Addendum_v2.pdf

So it seems it now has 16 banks of 16 patches each instead of 8.

Attached an updated version of the Take 5 adapation. You can unzip it and place it into a user directory (on Windows, default is C:\Users\<yourname>\KnobKraft-Adaptations) and restart the Orm to test. The log should read something like "overriding built-in adaptation...". You can change the path via the Optoins menu Set User Adaptation Dir... (that's Version 2.x and up of the Orm).

Let me know if that works, then I can include it in the next regular update!

You're the man! Seriously, it is a great program. Being able to preview, rename, and categorize patches is wonderful, as is moving patches to different banks and presets outside of the synth.

I'll download and take a look at this when home later today. Just to confirm, do the additional banks in the updated adaptation include the weird numbering scheme they had to use with the Take 5's 2.0 update? Because the Take 5's physical screen for the presets only shows 3 digits max, Bank 9 is "9" but Bank 10 is "A", Bank 11 is "B", Bank 12 is "C", and so forth, ending with Bank 16 being "G".

Yeah, I implemented in the new version the "friendlyProgramName" function that creates names like 001, A10, B15, G09, ...
I prefer it if the Orm shows the same numbering scheme as the synth, no matter how odd that is...
