Midi Echo IN to Out

I'm trying to daisy chain the tempest with other analog gear and the midi in does not seem to be passing through (i.e. echo midi in to out).  Is this a limitation of the tempest or is their something i'm missing?  All my other equipment seems to do this without a hitch.

Tempest doesn't have a Midi through connection you need an external device like this:  http://m.kentonuk.com/products/utilities/thru-5.php
in order to achieve what you want...
The only thing that Tempest can echo out is clock info by putting it to slave through mode in system preferences.
