Key-tracking for VCA

Key-tracking for VCA
« on: July 16, 2023, 01:36:33 PM »
Been trying to emulate VCA key-tracking by modulating VCAEnv Amt with Note Num, but this doesn't feel great and isn't very responsive, presumably because note number is spanning the entire range of possible notes. Is there a better way to achieve this?

I'm looking for a simple way to bring up the volume of lower notes relative to higher notes.

I documented the Note Number modulation with some details here:  (along with some other tech details about Rev2)

To make the lower notes louder, you'll want to crank up the VCA Env Amount to max,  and then in mod matrix, route Note Number to VCA Env Amount with a negative value, so it will progressively get quieter (less amp env) as you go up the keybed.   As noted in the table, if you actually want the note number to have maximum impact over 61-key range, you may need to route two or more mod slots.
