PEK Sequencer Only Modulation (No Note Triggers?)

PEK Sequencer Only Modulation (No Note Triggers?)

Sooooo, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this based on reading manual, this forum, and all the youtubes I could find.  BTW, only this forum seems to be helpful.  Not much other info out in the world, that I've found.

The sequencer only really functions when it's triggering at least voice 1?  IOW, I can't just have it sequence modulations like a custom LFO or envelope?  For example, my classic technique is to sequence a filter pattern with a few rythmic jumps.  Have that modulation occur on any keys I'm holding.  But it seems the sequencer must be the originator of the note triggers.  Do I have this correct?

I've barely begun messing with this thing and I'm already loving these funky feedback routings, etc.  What a beast.  Love.

It's been a number of years since I've had an Evolver, but this is an excellent resource, if you haven't seen it. I think the answer to your question lies on pages 91-92.

Thank you!  I will try the MIDI Trigger option.  That could be the key!

Ok so maybe a version difference.  There is no "MIDI Trigger" as referenced in the evolverguide.  The manual references other settings that do not appear to match the actual behavior.  I've got the latest OS's installed, an manual v1.4.    In some trigger settings, the sequencer seems to "claim" a voice and I only get three.  Voice 1 is always dark.  In other settings, the envelopes are always triggered on every step even though the manual indicates they should not be.

At the end of the day I can just discover what the synth wants to do and work around that.  I'm just wondering if other people have run into this.  It's like it just does what it wants.  :-)
