Hack Control - How gradual is the taper?

Hack Control - How gradual is the taper?
« on: March 28, 2023, 01:03:37 PM »
Hi,

I have a question about the taper from 0-127 on other people's Pro 2's.

How gradual of a taper is the control supposed to be? On my particular unit, it sounds like it abruptly turns on at "7". Is that normal behavior? It seems like it may be a bug with my Pro 2, so I'm a bit curious.

Any reports about other people's devices would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Slow Motion,  you're in luck, I was home sick today so was right in front my Pro2.  On a basic patch with a little bit of filter engaged I really don't hear effect on the hack till I get to 8.  I think its normal.

Thank you for checking for me. That's interesting. I'd also appreciate anybody else's experience with their Pro 2.

During Dave Smith's eurorack module demonstration, the hack effect seems a lot more gradual to my ears. Maybe that's due to the program material (drums), but my unit does not sound like that. It's so abrupt when I get to "7" that it almost feels like an ON/OFF. If the onset of the effect was a lot smoother throughout the taper, as demonstrated in Dave's video, I'd certainly get much more mileage out of it.
