I've looked high and low for an old-fashioned MIDI Keyboard controller. At one point, it seemed as if I had nearly found my ideal in the Extra Deluxe 61-Key MIDI Controller (
https://www.extradeluxemfg.com/), but it quickly went out of production and has not been replaced by a newer model.
For the time being, I've made do with the Nektar Impact GXP49 (
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ImpactGXP49--nektar-impact-gxp49-49-key-keyboard-controller). It actually has a decent touch and has few controls, but it admittedly looks cheap. And due to the curved sides, outfitting it with wood sides doesn't seem feasible. So, I'd like to replace it.
As usual, my needs are simple. The keyboard is intended to control two Korg ARP Odyssey modules. I need a five-octave keyboard (aftertouch would be nice but is not necessary), a MIDI out jack, a DC 9V power jack, pitch and modulation wheels, synthesizer keys, and no other controls. That's essential: I want a nice clean flat top for stacking another keyboard or effects pedals. And last but not least, wooden end cheeks.
I've looked all over kingdom come in vain for such a keyboard, but I'm sure there are some boutique sites that I'm not aware of, that some of you are. So, does anybody know of some hidden magical company that produces such a keyboard?
