What's displayed on your Rev 2 after startup ?
« on: December 22, 2022, 11:09:53 AM »
Hi,
I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem I've had on my Rev2 (desktop).
It used to start with one oscillator pitched one semitone too high. Now it's working correctly again, but I suspect something is going wrong, and I bought a second unit to have a backup.
On the 'faulty' unit, after startup it displays "Osc1Freq C2" or another pitch. (used to be frequently C# when it was buggy).
On the new unit, I noticed it is displaying "Env3 Dest whatever dest".

What's on yours ?
What does define what's the first parameter displayed on startup ? It doesn't seem to be saved as the program after going to Globals.
If some users could check on their units, that could give me a clue for repair if needed.
Thanks !

Mine, a Desktop-16 with firmware 1.2.1, says Osc 1 freq and had no issues with it.
Probably depending on what preset is started which pitch it says.

Assume you run 1.2.1 on both yours?

Hi, did you solve this problem?
First unit was faulty, or it is just bug?
I have exact same issue with rev2 module 8-voice.

Well, that's a weird one....
I bought a backup unit, and then after a while, the faulty unit started to work properly, apparently for no reason, and it's been working daily without any problem since.
So, sorry, I cannot help.

Hello, I had the same exact problem (osc1 pitch recalled with +1 semi tone when I power ON the synth).
It was only happening with the start up preset, and fixed as soon as I move to another preset (even when I go back to the start up preset).
I had another problem, the "start up" patch sometimes was not the right one. For example if it was set up to preset 2 bank 1, it often was preset 2 but from bank +1 (so preset 2 bank 2 instead of 1).

It seems that both problems were due to a faulty pot. Possibly the "value" knob.
Try moving it at least 100 times, in order to remove dust. Maybe do the same to the OSC1 pitch pot.

If it doesn't change anything, you will probably have to switch the pot card with a new one. At least that what fixed my problem.

Exact same problem indeed !
I assumed it was a faulty/dusty pot as well, that would explain why it got back working normally (in the case of a dusty pot).

I have issue with patchs value +1 too, also FX Type shows +1 sometimes and this fixed as I move to another preset.

One more strange problem with my desktop unit. After I switch off/on (interval 10 seconds for example) then sometimes it strats produce loud noise in right channel when I play keys and master volume does not affect more. Few or one restarts fix this issue. Only happens after some time of work. Anyone had same issue?

Never had the loud noise on right channel issue.

By the way, mine is a desktop too.
